Apple is pausing a two-week return period
On the help page , Apple explains, among other things, that the two-week return period for goods will be paused. The company gives its customers two weeks after the shop opens again - previously it was March 28, but now it is uncertain that it will reopen - time to return the products. Apple further explains that the company is working to complete repairs that started before the stores closed. In the United States, some customers were able to pick up their repaired equipment two days after the closure was announced. Customers who have not used or were unable to use this time window are unlucky: After that, picking up is no longer possible - the devices that were not picked up would now remain in the branches until they reopened. It is not yet clear when the shops will reopen. This could mean that owners of their device under repair might have to wait weeks or, in the worst case, months for their products.
Apple further explains that if a repair has not been completed, the company may need additional time after the reopening. Customers would be contacted as soon as the device was ready for collection. A small consolation: Customers whose devices have been sent to Apple repair centers no longer go back to the respective Apple stores, according to Business Insider . Instead, Apple contacts customers to send them back directly by mail.
Apple does not explain how it is in Germany in the document. According to the localized German support site, customers can still view the status of their repairs online .
