Osteoporosis is silent and dangerous
Osteoporosis is alarmingly increasing throughout the world due to lifestyle changes. Patients are prescribed calcium supplements to prevent and treat osteoporosis. However, conventional calcium like CaCO3 and CaCO3+ Vit-D have the following limitations:
- Lower efficiency
- Limited absorption
- Inability to deliver calcium at target place
- Excess calcium is required for desired efficacy which leaves un-dissociated calcium in the gut that causes gastrointestinal side effects like flatulence, belching, constipation and gastro discomfort.
A recent study that was designed to compare the efficiency of calcium Orotate with CacO3 + Vit -D in postmenopausal osteoporotic woman and also to assist the effect of study drugs on improving the patients and quality of life.
